PURPOSE
The primary function of the Solutions Engineer will be to provide support to the Americas Sales department concerning tactical objectives and goals while maintaining communication throughout the Solutions Engineering group and ibml. The goal of this position is to assist ibml in identifying and maximizing Product and Services revenue.
JOB DESCRIPTION
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the ibml Sales department with event support, public relations engagements, and pre-sales technical issues, including but not limited to RFP/RFI technical responses, customer site visits, and individual account related communications.
• Assist the Customer Services staff with transitioning pre-sales technical requirements to implementation requirements.
• Ensure equipment/resource availability for the purposes of Technology Days and Events
• Technical/Demo Day preparation regarding job setup, document mixture, machine configuration/functionality and required facilities
• Maintain technical product skills in the areas of networks/communication, databases, and ibml products
• Ensure overall customer satisfaction with ibml products and services
• Attend sales meetings for the purpose of providing technical input and maintaining account status information.
• Assist the ibml Engineering staff with technical input for product enhancements, fixes, or new product development.
• Analyze customer operations for the purpose of process improvements
• Maintain technical relationships with customers, re-sellers, and suppliers and report on new industry trends within each of the defined vertical markets
• Develop, provide, and maintain needed sales tools, spreadsheets, handouts, and technical documents
• Remain current on industry trends and help position ibml products and services as the industry leader
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's level degree in a technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent degree)
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in document imaging and data capture hardware and software
• Experience in intelligent document recognition, electronic content management or related area
• Previous experience with ibml Capture or other document imaging software a plus
• Previous experience with scanning solutions such as BancTec/Exela, NCR, Opex, or Kodak
• Minimum 2 years of business and technical sales experience
• Consultative selling or solution selling business-to-business
• Ability to travel in North America up to 40% of the time
