POSITION PURPOSE:
The Automation, Instrumentation Specialist will provide support and direction for the Instrumentation Engineering aspect of ICM projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Provide day to day operation to the ICM Instrumentation Engineering Team.
- Work with ICM clients, contractors, and internal customers to produce the Control Design Book (9-1) and Electrical Specification Book (9). Monitor and ensure that efforts are consistent with ICM goals and objectives.
- Provide engineering support to ICM clients, contractors and field personnel on the Book 9 and Book 9-1.
- Assist field personnel with technical issues when they arise.
- Lead and support the development of specifications inclusive of instrumentation equipment and the detail control designs of ICM projects.
- Develop instrument take-off based on project P&ID’s.
- Prepare instrument data sheets and loop diagrams.
- Optimize instrument systems ensuring minimal cost and compliance with the required performance.
- Support use of PIDMO and PROCORE systems.
- Solicit and review vendor quotes based upon instrumentation specifications for all projects.
- Prepare proposals and compile budgets for ICM Instrumentation projects.
- Work with vendors and other ICM departments to procure materials and equipment.
- Provide for long term development of the Instrumentation Engineering Team and its personnel.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required
ISA CCST Certification is an advantage
Required Knowledge & Experience:
5 years Instrumentation experience required
Industrial plant experience preferred
Skills/Abilities:
Possess excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office products
Possess working knowledge of AUTOCAD is an advantage
Knowledge and experience in the Ethanol industry is an advantage
Possess a working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
Strong technical and science math skills
Demonstrates attention to detail
Able to work under pressure to meet set deadlines
Possess strong organizational skills
Ability to work on multiple tasks at a time
Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision after initial training period
Acts with honesty and integrity
Possess fluent verbal and written skills in the English language
