Convergent Solutions Group Opportunity: Estimator
icon Mechanical is seeking qualified professionals to join our Convergent Solutions Group. Convergent Solutions is a convergence of icon Mechanical’s extensive construction capabilities– customized, scaled offerings designed to solve respective facility planning and management issues on a project-by-project basis, or a part of a master maintenance program. We specialize in HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing systems to be installed and maintained.
We are currently looking for an Estimator to join our Convergent Solutions Group located at our office in Nashville, TN. Our ideal candidate for an Estimator will be a self-starter with 5 years of experience in a similar role. We are looking for an individual who has a strong background in mechanical systems and can estimate complex projects up to $10M.
Primary Responsibilities for icon’s Convergent Solutions Group Estimator include:
- Analyzing project plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify project requirements and scope of work.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Conducting thorough take-offs, material, and labor cost estimates, and preparing detailed bid proposals for HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects.
- Sourcing and soliciting subcontractor and vendor quotes to obtain accurate pricing for materials, equipment, and services.
- Assessing project risks and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
- Participating in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and subcontractor negotiations as needed.
- Staying up to date on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact project costs and bidding strategies.
Primary Qualifications for icon’s Convergent Solutions Group Estimator include:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or 5 years of relevant working experience is highly preferred.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the mechanical contracting industry with a focus on HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, construction methods, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform detailed take-offs and cost calculations accurately.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet timelines.
