POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Sales Representative for our Ice Cream Division, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the sales strategy for our ice cream manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on developing co-manufacturing partnerships. This includes driving new product development, securing private label contracts, and supporting both existing and emerging brands in bringing products to market. You will receive full support from the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, as well as the Ice Cream Business Manager. In this global role, you will be responsible for nurturing long-term relationships with existing clients while proactively identifying and cultivating new business opportunities. You will serve as the primary commercial contact within your assigned markets, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and customer needs.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Leverage deep market and customer insights to strengthen customer loyalty, optimize product positioning, and drive both new sales and pricing improvements. Provide strategic leadership to maximize profitability and support sustainable growth in alignment with the company’s vision and core values. Develop and implement targeted strategies and tactical plans to enhance customer-level profitability and expand the customer base within assigned market segments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Onboarding of new customers and accounts in our systems to ensure properly executed product launches.
  • Drive sales performance and cultivate assigned accounts.
  • Develop and implement effective plans to search for sales leads and prospects for existing products within the assigned area.
  • Analyze customer performance and closely manage accounts within assigned market segments.
  • Prepare customer development action plans and effective sales leads and prospects search plans.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Establish and maintain customer, industry, and colleague relationships.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions, prices, and sales within the customer resource management program.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals and presentations to customers.
  • Monitor customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts.
  • Maintain close communication within the industry to stay abreast of competitive activity, pricing, and market trends.
  • Represent the company and promote products at conferences and trade shows.
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics.
  • Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: 

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science,  Business or another related field

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in food sales.  Dairy/Ice Cream specific experience is preferred.
  • Required: Experience in selling as a co-manufacturer to brands and private label customers.
  • Preferred: Experience in delivering presentations on technical subjects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to drive sales performance, present samples and concepts appropriately to customers, and meet demanding time schedules effectively.
  • Understanding of dairy and food industry market dynamics and requirements.
  • Personable nature, able to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Effective at time management, organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an exceptional ability to understand and translate customer requirements, to collaborate effectively with company employees across all functional areas.
  • Highly motivated and tenacious self-starter with a mature outlook, capable of working independently to deliver results with enthusiasm, commitment, and conscientiousness.
  • Creative, strategic thinker, able to meaningfully contribute to the development of the company’s short and long-term strategy.
  • Effective decision-maker and problem solver with the ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose solutions that benefit both the supplier and the customer.
  • Eager to learn and ambitious, with strong computer literacy and quantitative skills for data entry, information processing, and effective communication.
     

Working Conditions:

  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license, proof of liability insurance, and maintain an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicle record, in accordance with company insurance requirements.
  • Required travel of 50% with occasional periods up to 75%.
