We are seeking a CNC Operator/Machinist with experience using hand tools and power tools to fabricate and install metal fittings and fixtures.

Qualifications

  • Studies blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine dimension and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operation and set up requirements
  • Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts per print specification
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as necessary
  • Verifies conformance of finished work-piece specifications using measuring and inspection tools
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part inspection, adhering to quality standards and quality checks
  • Align and secure work pieces, cutting tools, clamps, and tombstones
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
  • Select the appropriate tools and measuring equipment to complete finished parts
  • 3 years’ previous experience setting up and operating turn/mill/CNC machine in a job shop type environment
  • 3 years’ experience reading and interpreting blueprints or GD&T

Language Skills

Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands

Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane. Ability to lift 80 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 80lbs unassisted
  • Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching and handling of materials.
