Payroll Administrator (Contract)

About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator for a 36 month contract to support our payroll operations during a busy transition period. The ideal candidate has a strong background in payroll processing, systems administration, and compliance, preferably within real estate, construction, or multi-entity environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for 100 employees, including both exempt and non-exempt staff
- Review timesheets, manage payroll records, and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure payroll is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations
- Coordinate with HR and Finance to maintain accurate employee data (e.g., benefits, PTO, deductions)
- Manage wage garnishments, tax withholdings, and direct deposits
- Prepare payroll reports and provide ad hoc reporting support for internal stakeholders
- Support audits and reconciliation processes as needed
- Serve as the point of contact for employee payroll inquiries
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of payroll experience; real estate or construction industry experience a plus
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, or similar systems)
- Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and payroll best practices
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
- Strong Excel skills and experience working in a multi-entity environment a plus
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate of $25-35 per hour, DOE
