Job Overview:
The Iditarod Trail Committee is looking for retail sales associates to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a strong knowledge of retail operations. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining the overall appearance of the store. Duties:
- Greet customers and provide them with product information and assistance
- Assist customers in finding the products they are looking for
- Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, including restocking shelves and arranging displays
- Answer customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner
-General housekeeping duties such as dusting fixtures, vacuuming, restocking bathrooms.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred but not required
-Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash register operations (must have previous cash handling skills)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
-Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
We are currently looking for seasonal employees but there are some opportunities to stay on during summer months from May-September. The Gift Shop is open Monday-Friday (with occasional weekends) from 9 am -5 pm and 7 days a week during the summer.
Please note that all positions at our company are paid positions.
