Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Position Summary
We're seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our growing infrastructure team. This role provides first and second-line support to employees across multiple US locations, requiring someone who can work independently, think critically about technical problems, and deliver exceptional customer service. You'll troubleshoot complex issues, assist with IT projects, and have opportunities to expand your skills in areas like networking, security, and cloud administration.
What You'll Do
- Provide first and second-line technical support via ticketing system, resolving 70% of issues without escalation
- Perform physical hardware installations including workstation setup, peripheral configuration, and basic network cabling
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 applications, and common business software
- Deploy and configure laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and printers following documented standards
- Monitor backup systems, alerts, and device logs to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on projects including system deployments, migrations, and security implementations
- Document solutions thoroughly in knowledge base and maintain accurate asset inventory
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party support when escalation is required
- Support compliance requirements (SOX, PCI, NIST) through proper documentation and security practices
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of helpdesk or IT support experience in a business environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Associate's/Bachelor's degree in IT-related field)
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Hands-on experience with physical hardware setup including workstation deployment, cabling, and peripheral installation
- Basic networking knowledge - understanding of switches, routers, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Experience using ticketing systems and remote support tools (RMM platforms)
- Strong customer service skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and user interaction
- Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently
- Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, or Entra ID administration
- Familiarity with enterprise antivirus/EDR solutions and patch management
- Experience with Cisco Meraki networking equipment (switches, wireless access points, security appliances)
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V
- Experience with VoIP phone systems administration and troubleshooting
- Background supporting engineering applications (AutoDesk AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Exposure to ERP systems in manufacturing or service industries
- Experience with PowerShell scripting or automation tools
- Understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements (SOX, PCI, NIST)
- Industry certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified, CompTIA Network , ITIL Foundation, or Cisco CCNA
