Material Coordinator
Position title: Material Coordinator
Reports to: Receiving Supervisor
Supervises: N/A
Position summary:
Supports Senior Receiving Clerk by properly handling material in the warehouse. Inventories receiving materials and to provide inventory, storage and material disbursement controls. Maintain control of the Shopping Cart List and Kanban list is fulfilled daily. Use scanning equipment for inventory control.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Making sure that work items flow through the Kanban System notify purchasing with issues.
- Ensure that the Shopping cart list is filled loaded on truck shipped to the WSSA on time daily.
- Verify that incoming freight, as noted on vendor packing slip and confirmed by physical count, conforms with information on receiving documents.
- Count all incoming receipts and report discrepancies to Purchasing and Supervisor reconcile before forwarding questionable goods to Quality Assurance or the requester.
- Inspect incoming shipments for damage. When damage is discovered, inform purchasing and follow through to final resolution. Document damaged or missing items on B/L.
- Maintain receiving files in an orderly fashion, ensuring their security and integrity.
- Cooperation with Purchasing, Planning, Accounts Payable and the inventory control data cycle counter to reconcile invoices and inventory on-hand balances as affected by receiving documentation.
- Perform activities in all areas of material distribution, including shipping and pulling parts for production.
- Assist in cross training other warehouse personnel on warehouse processes directed by warehouse supervisor.
- Update all reports that are required of the position.
- Perform all other duties as deemed necessary by the department manager or supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be able to use Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to read, write, interpret and follow instructions
- Ability to do basic math: add, subtract, multiply, divide, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 40 pounds for minimum of 25 feet.
- Must be able to bend, walk, stoop, climb and stand for 8 hours per day.
Education and work experience:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 2 years experience in shipping and receiving
