Overview
The Data Scientist applies a systematic, focused, quantifiable approach for the software development of our Business Intelligence component. This position will be part of an essential team to help migrate our BI solution to a cloud platform.
Responsibilities
- This position provides extensive software design and development of applications within the business intelligence space.
- Assist in designing software with full or limited functional requirements.
- Helps lead the migration of existing BI applications to our new, cloud-based solution.
- Participates in group design discussions and provides concrete guidance to the design of complete product components.
- Understands design discussions that pertain to the inter-connectivity of product components and major product subsystems
- Makes changes to, or creation of, modules that are completely designed.
- Proficiency in Software Development, Software Design, Software Testing, Software Configuration Management, Software Engineering Tools and Software Quality
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Computer Science degree or equivalent.
- 5-10 or more years of related experience in the lottery industry.
- Excellent understanding of Analytics and Reporting content development preferred
- 5 Years of experience in ETL tools preferred
- 5 Years of experience with report development tools preferred
- 1 to 3 years of experience with dashboard development preferred
- 5 years of experience in SQL / any multidimensional Data Warehouses preferred
- Experience in Microsoft BI toolsets, include experience using Azure Cloud platform preferred
- Expert knowledge and experience using Tableau or an equivalent preferred
- Experience with source-code management (e.g. Git, GitHub, Subversion, etc) preferred
