.The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Bureau of Collection Services, Technical Recovery Unit is seeking to hire an individual to serve as a Medicaid Recovery Caseworker for the Liens and Estates Recoveries Section. The ideal candidate will conduct research via the internet and various reports to determine the claim status of the deceased customer's estate and complete required legal documents to file estate claims and/or property liens. The candidate will exhibit excellent follow-up skills to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, ensuring such are completed accurately and timely to achieve unit goals. The candidate will also demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as display motivation and initiative to accomplish set goals of maximizing recovery efforts. This position further serves as a section liaison for internal and external entities regarding property liens and estate claims and/or issues.

- Serves as a Medicaid Recovery Caseworker for the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Bureau of Collection Services, Technical Recovery Unit, Liens and Estate Recoveries Section .
- Conducts reviews to determine if claims can be filed against assets of a deceased customer's estate .
- Evaluates, organizes, and completes forms for filing estate claims or property liens and notifies the Technical Recovery Section (TRS) Central Office .
- Assists DHS local office staff in resolving questions related to the handling of estate claims and property liens .
- Compiles and develops weekly activity reports, monthly itineraries, and monthly and periodic statistical and financial reports regarding liens and estates activities for management .
- Participates in special projects, collaborative work groups, and committee meetings .
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above .
Minimum Qualifications

- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration .
- Requires one (1) year of professional administrative experience in a public or business organization or completion of an agency approved professional management training program .
Preferred Qualifications
.- .
- One (1) year of work experience in customer, Medicaid, or liens case management .
- One (1) year of professional experience in financial management and budgeting .
- One (1) year of professional experience communicating with healthcare corporations and/or facilities, financial institutions, legal organizations, or other entities regarding customer asset information .
- One (1) year of experience utilizing spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and word processing applications such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs .
