WHAT DOES OUR CONTROLLER DO?
You're pivotal to optimizing our financial strategies and supporting calculated, continuous business growth for our specialty construction firm. With precision and attention to detail, you're responsible for completing accurate reporting, managing key accounting functions, and supporting strategic planning with our CFO. You keep our finances in good standing, ensuring all procedures comply with regulations. Motivated to improve our methods, you analyze our current processes, identify new tools or strategies to implement, and help team members adapt to changes.
Adhering to GAAP, you assess our finances, measure performance, provide actionable insights, and make strategic recommendations to our leadership team. You oversee payroll, the general ledger, and accounts receivable and payable to ensure all reports are finished accurately and promptly. To enhance our profitability, you analyze construction contracts, implement job costing procedures, and measure costs against profits. You track costs for each project, manage cash flow, and strive to bolster our liquidity. Tackling additional financial responsibilities, you demonstrate a commitment to excellence and integrity.
CONTROLLER REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Advanced knowledge of software such as QuickBooks, Sage 300, or Procore
- Proficiency with financial modeling tools like Excel or Google Sheets
BONUS CRITERIA
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- CPA certification or another relevant license
- Experience in the construction industry or with project-based accounting
- Supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, and construction financial reporting
