Project Manager

Project Manager - Lompoc, CA

Based at our flagship manufacturing plant in Lompoc, CA, Imerys is hiring a Project Manager to lead strategic industrial projects from feasibility to implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages in close coordination with Industrial VP and other Management Team members, the portfolio of industrial projects (strategic, development, sustenance, safety)
• Manages projects from feasibility studies to implementation.
• Ensures CER (Capex Expenditure Request) dossiers are developed according to Imerys protocols and engineering standards.
• Defines project execution strategy and contracts with external engineering companies in close coordination with Procurement.
• Monitors engineering development
• Brings engineering expertise when needed, and ensures safe design.
• Checks compliance to established procedures or protocols, and challenges soundness of various assumptions
• Manages and coordinate technical project teams and prepare steering committee, follow the construction on site with strong focus on EHS
• Engineering: minimize risks and maximize future results
• Efficient project control and reporting , incl. financial control, and taking corrective actions
• Support site maintenance/small projects engineers
• Key interactions: Ensures tight coordination with BA Industrial VP, Regional Operations Directors, Industrial and Procurement.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years’ Project Management experience in engineering (heavy process industry)
• Strong expertise and experience in large industrial Project Management (500k - 5M)
• Deep understanding of the Business Group processes and products

Strong analytical skills

• Knowledge of procurement and engineering equipment and construction contracts.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Problem solving / results oriented

• Knowledgeable in engineering disciplines (Mechanics, Electrical, Civil Works)

• Project Control and Reporting (EHS, Schedule and Cost)

• Negotiation and arbitration

• Execution strategy definition and risk analysis
