Pre-K Instructional Aide

Pre-K Instructional Aide Applicant should be able to demonstrate: Ability to Interact with students in a caring, positive, supportive, manner, Speaks to students respectfully, giving praise and/or redirection in a positive manner, Maintain confidentiality of student and family information, Attentiveness to safety concerns in the classroom, school building, and when in the presence of students, Communicates known safety concerns on a timely basis, Effectively monitors whereabouts of students during all school related activities Effectively guides student movements and interactions for adherence to protocols regarding safety, policy and procedure Monitors and redirects student interactions in a positive, supportive manner that aligns with age appropriate social emotional practices Supporting preschool teachers with preferred classroom management and discipline strategies Articulates effectively when interacting with children to ensure/advance student understanding Communicates effectively when speaking to adults, including staff and parents Carries out tasks and assignments effectively Respects the classroom teacher’s direction to offer support for student learning and care Follows classroom teacher’s direction for lesson preparation and follow-up Supervises students during out of classroom activities, such as snack, lunch, physical playtime, and restroom use Prepares children and supervises during nap time Observing children for developmental problems and other concerns—and passing this information on to the preschool teacher
