Description
Immersion Consulting is seeking a seasoned technical editor to join our Digital Media and Creative Services Team. Our team provides technical editing for work products for congressional, media, or other governmental agencies, performing comprehensive and detailed editing services on an array of high-profile and high-visibility work products. This seasoned technical editor will draft, edit, proofread, and format a range of work products. Accurate, error-free writing is integral to maintaining audience confidence and engagement. Working in a collaborative team environment and maintaining deadlines is required.
As a Technical Writer you will also:
- Create client materials that are clear, concise, accurate, and impactful.
- Confirm alignment with style guides, create content and work closely with clients to ensure accurate messaging.
- Review and edit for grammar, style, punctuation, and structure for all promotional products, fact sheets, program brochures, and other public release documents.
- Require all materials for clients to reflect clarity, logic, persuasion, and effectiveness.
- Create client materials that are clear, concise, accurate, and impactful.
- Work closely with our clients to understand them, their organization, their goals, and their intended audiences.
- Edit and coordinate text, tables, photos, and other art for technical reports and manage translating complex, challenging concepts across varied audiences by following current trends and applying industry best practices..
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or related discipline and 3 years of experience; or 10 years of experience.
- Proven strong writing skills to produce, revise content, and review for style.
- Experience copyediting, adept editing and proofreading skills to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Strong written or verbal communication skills to provide feedback and collaborate with writers and other content developers improve products.
- Comfortable managing deadlines – Excellent organization skills to manage calendars and publish materials on time.
- Excels with attention to detail
- Knowledgeable of web and social media trends
- Microsoft Suite of Tools (Word, Office, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Microsoft: SharePoint, Visio
- Adobe: Acrobat Professional; Adobe FrameMaker
Have knowledge of:

- Basic HTML
