What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAPE Instrumentation Technician position at IMMI?
IMMI is seeking an Instrumentation Technician who will p erform all tasks and functions to utilize, calibrate, maintain, repair, manage, document, select, design, develop, and plan the use of ATDs (anthropomorphic testing devices), electronic instrumentation, and photographic instrumentation .

Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties in accordance with IMMI safety policies.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the CAPE Quality Manual and Code of Conduct Policy.
- Perform calibration activities on all ATD’s, electronic instrumentation, and photographic instrumentation.
- Manage outside calibration activities on any required ATD’s, electronic instrumentation, and photographic instrumentation.
- Document calibration activities on all ATD’s, electronic instrumentation, and photographic instrumentation.
- Design, develop, and maintain all ATD, electronic instrumentation, and photographic instrumentation databases.
- Maintain and repair all ATD’s and instrumentation as required to support CAPE operations.
- Review and QA calibrations certificates to ensure all tolerances and requirements are met.
- Provide training to CAPE staff on ATD and instrumentation equipment and processes.
- Provide instrumentation support for CAPE operations and test centers.
- Perform routine housekeeping and 5S functions
- Strictly follow the CAPE Quality Management System including all procedures, work instructions, test setup documents, calculators, checklists, etc. and to communicate to the Instrumentation Manager any findings of violating the CAPE Quality Management System.
- Be sure all communications and records (files) are free from poorly worded memos and reports which inaccurately describe customer products, development and/or testing efforts.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality to protect information for our customers.
- Maintain a working level of knowledge and understanding of various standards applicable to the testing services that CAPE provides to customers.
- Stay abreast of the latest technology, constantly striving to enhance our existing systems and capabilities in line with department/business objectives.
- Develop and maintain a free open flow of information and foster a “can do” attitude between CAPE personnel and customers within the guidelines of CAPE departmental and divisional objectives.
- Represent the company to the public, industry, and government in accordance with IMMI practices.
- May not dispose of any capital assets of the Corporation or related companies.
- May not sign any contracts obligating the Corporation or related companies.
- May not change the objectives of his/her area of responsibility.
- May not violate the CAPE Code of Conduct Policy or the IMMI Confidentiality Agreement.
- Maintains a harmonious working relationship with all IMMI/CAPE employees.
- Daily verbal and e-mail communication with the Instrumentation Manager as circumstances develop that will affect the following:
- Personnel safety.
- Competency or quality of test services, test data, or test equipment.
- Completion of test services within the planned timeframe.
- Any other specific report(s) requested by Management to facilitate decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Must have an Associate of Science degree in electrical engineering technology, electronics technology, computer technology, equivalent military experience, or equivalent industrial experience.
- Must have a working knowledge in computer sciences to efficiently operate (hands on) in an environment using Microsoft Office, data analysis software, data collection software, motion analysis software, etc.
- Must have verbal, auditory, and written English skills sufficient to receive work direction, to participate on cross-functional teams, to communicate with customers, and to be able to meet the reporting requirements of this position including e-mail, phone, and personal communication.
- Must have working knowledge in electronics/ instrumentation to efficiently operate (hands on) in an environment using a DMM, oscilloscope, waveform generator, and other related equipment.
- Must be able to solder and build and/or repair cable and connector assemblies.
- Must be able to work within the IMMI/CAPE facility.
- Must be able to be mobile for the entire day as required.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Must be able to perform the following as required: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, observing, and repetitive motions.
- Must maintain an IMMI forklift license.
- Must be able to travel as the need arises, including travel by air when required and must maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to drive long distances when necessary.
- Must be able to provide coverage after hours and weekends, as required to support customer testing and meet project deadlines.
