Purpose of Role

  

The Director of International Sales for IMMY is a strategic leadership position responsible for driving global revenue growth and market expansion for IMMY's innovative fungal diagnostic solutions. This role entails developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies that enhance IMMY’s market presence and solidify the company’s position as a preeminent provider of fungal diagnostics worldwide.


Key responsibilities include Leading a high-performing sales team and business unit managers to achieve ambitious sales targets, managing, and strengthening relationships with international distributors and partners, and identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.  The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, business development, product development, and regulatory affairs, to ensure the successful launch and adoption of IMMY's products in diverse international markets.


The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in international sales, a strong background in the medical diagnostics industry, and a proven track record of achieving significant sales growth in global markets. This role demands exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments across various countries.

Ultimately, the Director of International Sales will play a pivotal role in advancing IMMY's mission to improve global health outcomes by providing accessible and accurate fungal diagnostic solutions to healthcare providers and patients worldwide.

Managing:

  • Planning and Organizing: Managers are responsible for organizing and planning team projects. This involves guiding the team to break down larger goals into achievable tasks, setting timelines, and allocating resources effectively for the team.
  • Delegating and Supervising: Managers delegate responsibilities among team members according to their strengths and skills. They oversee the progress, provide guidance, and ensure that the team’s responsibilities and projects are completed efficiently.

Accountability:

  • Setting Expectations: Managers establish clear expectations for their team members. They communicate what needs to be accomplished, outlining roles, responsibilities, and performance standards.
  • Monitoring Progress and Performance: Holding individuals accountable involves regular monitoring of progress and performance. Managers track performance against objectives, provide feedback, and address any issues that may hinder success.
  • Recognition and Feedback: Effective managers provide constructive feedback and recognition for good performance. They acknowledge achievements, support professional development, and address any underperformance through coaching or corrective actions.

Development & Execution of Sales & Marketing Strategies

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive international commercialization strategy aligned with IMMY's overall business objectives. Build and lead the international commercialization units towards achieving ambitious revenue targets and market penetration goals. Create detailed sales plans for each business unit (UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy).
  • Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and eventually manage a high-performing team of regional unit managers. Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Market Expansion: Lead regional units to identify and evaluate new market opportunities within assigned regions. Develop market entry strategies, taking into consideration logistics, local regulations, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
  • Customer Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners. Work closely with the regional units to ensure a consistent and exceptional customer experience. 
  • Distributors: Evaluate current distributor relationships within the regions and expand the partnership. Part of the evaluation process will be to strategically evaluate where we need field representation and where we can relay solely on distributors.
  • Sales Performance: Monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and recommend adjustments to strategies as necessary. Develop and implement sales forecasts, budgets, and KPIs to track progress and measure success.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product development, business development, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless product launches, optimal inventory management, and effective communication of customer requirements.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes that could impact the IVD market. Leverage this information to adapt strategies and seize opportunities. 
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure that all international sales activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Foster a culture of integrity and compliance within the sales organization.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on sales performance, market developments, and strategic initiatives. Present clear and concise information that supports data-driven decision-making.

· Proven track record of at least 5 years in international sales leadership roles within the IVD or medical device industry.

· Strong understanding of global healthcare markets, distribution networks, and regulatory requirements.

· Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire geographically dispersed teams to achieve ambitious sales targets.

· Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
