Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for managing the materials and logistics processes within the organization. This includes ensuring accurate integration of the MRP system, managing Tier II component supplies, supporting OEM customer service, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in automotive materials management, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to achieving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the MRP system is effectively integrated into manufacturing processes, maintaining high data accuracy.
- Support service operations for all OEM customers, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Identify root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Manage the supply of Tier II components during program launches and at the end of production for service demands.
- Coordinate and manage engineering change effective dates, notifying the assembly department and RRP of all necessary updates.
- Integrate EDI releases from customers and ensure the accurate scheduling of Tier II suppliers.
- Review and update the Bill of Materials to ensure MRP reflects actual processes and correct inventory consumption.
- Oversee transportation logistics for both incoming and outgoing items to RRP, optimizing costs and ensuring timely delivery.
- Manage the receipt of incoming purchased items, ensuring prompt inventory recognition and control in multi-location storage.
- Effectively manage the entering of receipts for service component deliveries into RRP.
- Collaborate with manufacturing departments to standardize and optimize JIT component delivery and skin delivery processes.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce inventory and supply chain costs through lean initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate CCA Service Packaging specifications.
- Monitor and schedule service assembly builds.
- Maintain a 100% Service Supplier rating.
- Manage component obsolescence, from ordering through to tracking claims.
- Track inventory containment and ensure non-conforming products are returned to suppliers, with the correct value credited back to out manufacturing client or replaced.
Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of materials management experience, ideally in an automotive environment.
- Experience with MRP systems is required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to drive results and implement effective change.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, QAD, and Excel.
- Manufacturing experience with a focus on packaging is preferred.
