Job Description
The Associate Attorney will handle workers’ compensation cases on the plaintiff side, focusing on securing settlements and advocating for injured workers. Key responsibilities include:
- Representing injured workers in workers’ compensation claims from start to finish.
- Managing a caseload that includes settlement negotiations and some litigation.
- Drafting legal documents such as motions, petitions, and discovery.
- Appearing at hearings and depositions before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
- Working with medical and vocational experts to strengthen client cases.
- Keeping clients informed about case progress and legal strategies.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in California.
- 1 years of experience in workers’ compensation law (plaintiff or defense).
- Strong litigation skills, with the ability to negotiate and draft legal documents effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Client-focused mindset with strong communication skills.
- A genuine passion for advocating for injured workers.
