Accounting Manager

Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 / year

Description

As theAccounting Manager at Impulse, you will perform an influential role in computing, assessing and communication Impulse's revenue and expenses to key internal and external stakeholders. You will have a hands-on opportunity to drive improvements in all facets of our accounting operations, including leading the month-end financial statement close cycle process and drafting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• US GAAP Knowledge to Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances
• Document data and prepare reconciliations
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
• Summarize and prepare current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports.
• Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
• Prepare and review Budget vs actual variances
• Provide input into department's goal setting process
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Communicate effectively with clients and outside auditors
• Assists with preparations for audits.
• Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions with client personnel
• Communicate with Manager and/or Director on work status and client issues that arise
• Sole contributor role currently but eventually may have to manage a team of 2-3 staff
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 5-8 years of accounting experience
• Experience with creating financial statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
• Intermediate understanding of accounting and reporting standards, gaining experience in researching as it relates to accounting issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
• CPA experience preferred
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Outstanding reliability and discretion
• Willingness to continually learn, iterate, and coordinate multiple projects
• Demonstrated proficiency in math, accounting and financial processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work at our North Redondo Beach facility full-time
  
  

Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
