Direct Support Provider

As an Independent Living Facilitator (ILF) you will provide for the care, fellowship, and protection of persons with developmental disabilities while supporting them to be as independent as possible. Shift (Two Available Shifts)

Shift 1: Mon-Fri 1:30pm - 10pm

Shift 2: 1st/3rd/5th Weekends Sat 8am - 8pm, Sun 8am - 7pm

Responsibilities

• Assisting a person with disabilities to become more active in the community:
  • Helping them with their grocery shopping
  • Joining them in their hobbies, entertainment, and other recreational interests they may have
  • Helping them run errands
• Support with personal hygiene
  • Bathing
  • Oral hygiene
  • Assisting on and off commode
  • Changing adult briefs
• Light household work
• Meal preparation
• Lifting and transferring, sometimes with the assistance of a Hoyer lift
• Medication administration

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of direct support experience
• Valid CA Driver License and proof of auto insurance
• Access to a reliable vehicle
• Willing to submit to a criminal background check and drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position and a positive test for any illicit substances, including marijuana, will preclude the applicant from being considered for hire) if offered a position
