Title: Director of Admissions

Supervisor: President

FLSA: Exempt


Position Overview:

The Director of Admissions is the enrollment manager who provides leadership, planning, and management for Incarnate Word Academy and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive enrollment management program built upon quantitative analysis and strategic decision-making, while fostering a culture that emphasizes strong personal and feeder school relationships, a high-touch and high-level customer service approach, transparent and frequent communication, and whole-school collaboration. All responsibilities are to be in alignment with the mission and vision of Incarnate Word Academy. Additionally, the target admissions goal for each recruitment cycle is 100 students. The Director of Admissions reports directly to the school President and works collaboratively with the student ambassadors, staff, faculty, and administrators. 


Hours:  Monday to Friday, with evening and weekend work as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, including tours of the campus to prospective students and parents (both individual and group) 
  • Coordinate all re-enrollment activity with constant monitoring of attrition and retention 
  • Prepare and maintain statistics regarding enrollment, including movement of applicants through the admissions funnel (process), financial aid, and attrition
  • In conjunction with marketing and communications staff, develop marketing tools, events, and advertising campaigns, etc., to attract mission-appropriate families
  • Respond to all new student inquiries with the goal of cultivating relationships of all mission-appropriate families 
  • Create and maintain “Coffee Hour” presentations with feeder school principals and teachers 
  • Develop a detailed one to three-year marketing plan to target, nurture, enroll and retain students 
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Requirements: 

  • Supervise, evaluate, and direct the admissions team to and through goal projections, admissions process, and student enrollment

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in school admissions or comparable work; higher education experience in enrollment management preferred
  • Experience working in marketing and public relations 
  • Strong grasp of Catholic education and ability to effectively articulate the mission and values of Incarnate Word Academy 
  • Ability to develop a long-range plan and manage the daily details of implementation 
  • Must enjoy working with the public and be effective in verbal and written communications with diverse audiences 
  • Strategic thinker with “can-do” style
