As an Assistant Community Manager, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming and well-managed community for our residents. Working closely with the Community Manager, you’ll help ensure the smooth operation of daily property functions and provide exceptional service to our residents. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional excited about growth within a supportive company.
Responsibilities:
Resident Relations
- Welcome new residents, handle move-in/move-out processes, and ensure timely completion of leasing paperwork.
- Address resident inquiries and concerns with empathy to help create a welcoming community.
Leasing & Marketing Support
- Under the direction of the Community Manager, coordinate and administer day-to-day leasing activities such as conducting tours, identifying and following up with potential residents, analyzing lease clauses, and updating property information in management systems.
- Contribute to the marketing efforts by maintaining an updated waitlist and preparing accurate traffic and vacancy reports.
Compliance & Record-Keeping
- Complete income certifications and re-certifications for residents in a timely manner to ensure compliance with affordable housing programs and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about and ensure adherence to Fair Housing, Landlord Tenant Laws, and other local, state, and federal laws.
Financial & Administrative Tasks
- Collect delinquent accounts according to legal guidelines and work with accounting to ensure accuracy of rent roll and accounts receivable.
- Purchase goods/services/supplies, process invoices and assist with vendor management under the Community Manager’s guidance.
Property Maintenance & Coordination
- Partner with the maintenance team to address repair and maintenance requests, inspect property and vacant units, and coordinate services with vendors to uphold property standards.
Team Collaboration
- Support the Community Manager in daily operations, handle various property management tasks, and foster a positive team environment.
- Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with residents, coworkers, and other departments.
Other duties as assigned by the Community Manager or Regional Manager.
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative but not exclusive of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED, with at least one year of experience in multifamily property management (affordable housing experience preferred).
- Customer Service & Communication: Excellent customer service skills with timely, effective verbal and written communication.
- English Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Math Skills: Proficient in mathematics.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with general computer use, internet, and property management software with a willingness to learn new programs.
- Training & Development: Able to complete required training within deadlines and attend additional learning sessions as needed.
