ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Provides strategic counsel to the provost in matters related to the Academic Affairs; Works with College administration to establish and execute the priorities of the College; Ensures student support and success through program quality; Functions as an educational support person for issues and challenges within Academic Affairs. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Reports directly to the Provost; Accountable for successful administrative/budgetary support of the areas of Liberal Arts, Scchol of Science, School of Education, Adult Education, Learning Resources, Institute for Academic Excellence, Curriculum Support, Articulation and Partnerships, Workforce Education and Development, Health Science, School of Nursing, Public Service Education, Business, Advanced Technology, the Northwest Center and IRSC Online Supports the Provost in establishing and communicating educational performance standards; Assists in formulating both long- and short-range strategic plans/goals related to all academic areas; Serves as the lead Administrator for all grants under the purview of Academic Affairs; Formulates annual reports, funding guide, and other state and federal projects; Confers with Deans regarding course offerings; Confers with the Dean’s regarding recruitment, retention, and completion strategies; Holds instructional staff accountable for the effective discharge of their assigned instructional duties; Coordinates and provides ongoing support to all adjunct faculty; Receives, reviews, and approves recommendations from faculty committees within the Division; Participates in conferences of associations and institutions of higher education and maintains other professional contacts to advance the role, mission, and reputation of the College; Reviews material to be included in the College catalog, remaining consistent at all times with state and local requirements; Reviews the revision, publication, and distribution of Faculty Handbooks; Executes other tasks and assignments as the Provost may direct. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
