Indorama Integrated Oxides & Derivatives is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Production Engineer at our Pasadena, TX location. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing the day-to-day operations of unit. Must have extensive knowledge of both the manufacturing process and the chemistry being applied in order to ensure sustainable, compliant, high-quality performance of the unit. Should utilize technical knowledge to analyze and optimize plant performance, while monitoring and collecting data for unit KPIs.

What will be expected from you?
- Ensure on-time delivery of product by producing on-spec material according to the schedule.
- Provide site tours and participate in audits when necessary.
- Track and improve unit KPIs, including volume and quality goals, through optimization of existing equipment.
- Monitor DCS performance and make changes to coding where appropriate.
- Responsibilities include adding MOC with appropriate design, PSI documentation and PSSR.
- Maintain product databases (ERP) and analyzes accuracy of BOMs.
- Trained in DCS programming, including batch sequencing and alarm management. Use knowledge to troubleshoot production issues and improve process safety and efficiency.
- Exemplify safety culture and participate in safety initiatives.
- Track production efficiency, including downtime, cycle times, product yields, material variance, first-pass-quality, and lost production volume. Address any gaps in these areas that can be resolved without redesign/capital investment.
- Lead trials of new products once R&D has transferred ownership to the site. Perform capability analysis on product specifications.
- Assist in schedule optimization through cycle time analysis and application of product wheels. Assist logistics and supply chain in finalizing production schedules.
- Identify possible unit improvement projects, collects data to support their development, and forwards them to the engineering group for further investigation. Serve as a SME on ongoing project teams and collect data to confirm success after projects are implemented.
- Identify projects that could provide good ROE if implemented.
- Monitor material variance for deviations.
- Troubleshoot and addresses process quality issues to ensure high FPQ.
- Perform capability analysis.
- Record and investigate quality deviations, collaborating with operations team and QC lab to identify and address problems.
- Manage and optimize all process under your responsibility taking into consideration Quality, Legality and Food Safety (if applicable) and client needs on our products and services.
- Guarantee all documentation under your responsibility updated and available for consulting.
- Foster open, positive, environment in unit.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth production.
- Serve as an accessible point of contact and mentor to shift supervisors and operators. Must be willing to assist in any production issues that come up unexpectedly.
- BS in Chemical Engineering
- 3 years of experience
- Root Cause Analysis Training, PSM, DeltaV/DCS Coding
