Burner Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Burner Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is attentive, positive, responsible, possesses a strong work ethic, is a problem solver, and enjoys keeping customers happy.

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose, and repair boiler room equipment.
• Troubleshoot, fires and sets combustion on all types of burner applications.
• Perform start-up of burners in the field.
• Ability to wire controls, valves, switches, and motors within burner control scope
• Rebuild and test gas trains, regulators, valves, etc.
• Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor

Conditions:

• Comfortable with variable work environments that are not climate controlled
• Work within a shop environment which requires the use of patience, sound judgement, and problem solving
• Ability to thrive in a variable high-volume, low-volume work environment
• Comfortable driving DOT rated vehicles

Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of steam and hot water boilers, burners (gas & oil), associated controls and electrical circuits, combustion & associated boiler room equipment and piping systems.
• Knowledge of safety standards and adherence to protective clothing and gear is critical
• Physical ability to lift 50lbs solo and 100lbs with assistance
• Maintains a customer focused, respectful and responsive attitude
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
• Able to follow directions and work independently
• Excellent organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Uses intellect, creativity, adaptability and best judgements to achieve required results
• Capable multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize, and work to time constraints
• Ability to read and interpret information accurately: customer specs, company correspondence, etc.
• Knowledge of English grammar and punctuation; verbal and written communications skills.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years commercial/industrial boiler room service experience
• Industrial related licenses preferred
• Clean driving record

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overnight shift
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
