Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Cognos Developer where you will be responsible for developing, designing, and testing reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos Analytics software.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying dashboard solutions and multi-dimensional reports using IBM's Cognos platform.
Additionally, your role will involve evaluating the company's needs related to Cognos development, translating business requirements into technical specifications, and developing and testing plans to ensure successful project delivery. You will also participate in project planning and track activities to ensure timely execution.
Your responsibilities will encompass building reporting solutions while adhering to data warehousing best practices, addressing production defects, and effectively handling technical issues as they arise.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and scorecards using Cognos Analytics tools
Support data preparation processes, including ETL (extraction, transformation, loading) to ensure data integrity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications
Participate in testing reports and dashboards to ensure accuracy and performance
Document reporting processes and create user guides for end-users
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for existing Cognos reports and dashboards
Design, develop, and deploy dashboard solutions and multi-dimensional reports using IBM s Cognos
Evaluate the company's needs related to Cognos development in collaboration with team members
Translate business requirements into technical specifications
Develop and test plans to ensure successful project delivery
Participate in project planning and track activities to ensure timely execution
Build reporting solutions following data warehousing best practices
Address production defects and handle technical issues effectively
Additional Skills Preferred:
Proficiency in Cognos Framework Manager, specifically in Cognos Framework Manager 8.4 Data Modeling
Strong SQL skills with knowledge of Relational and Dimensional data modeling concepts
Extensive experience in Metadata Modeling utilizing Cognos Framework Manager
Expertise in Dimensional Data Modeling, including Star/Snowflake Schemas and Fact/Dimension table creation
