Job Title: Blended Learning Specialist Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: Blended Learning Coordinator Pay Grade: Teacher
Dept. /School: Technology Days: 207
Primary Purpose: To assist the blended learning coordinator with the implementation of district blended learning initiatives that include, but not limited to: state grant supported opportunities, district strategic planning and staff professional development.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
- Professional Teaching Certification
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist the Blended Learning Coordinator with communication/feedback process with campuses that have established blended learning
- Support implementation to systematize blended learning district wide
- Collaborate with the Blended Learning Coordinator and campus leadership to identify unique academic needs of schools and develop aligned instructional supports
- Establish strong relationships with campus staff and maximize their role in blended learning implementation
- Collaborate with BLC and campus staff to identify professional development areas of need with blended learning implementation and design measurable goals for growth in these areas to continue driving district initiatives
- Support and assist with monitoring completion of blended learning professional development opportunities district wide
- Build strong relationships with school leaders and teachers to engage schools as key partners in increasing student achievement and engagement
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience in grades K-12
- Successful experience implementing blended learning in the classroom
- Design and delivery of professional learning preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- The ability and reliability to function well in a team environment
- Ability to speak publicly and present professional learning to district staff
- Willingness to experience new learning and take risks to grow
Working Conditions:
Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide and statewide travel
