Job Description : High Voltage Estimator (T&D)

Position : High Voltage Estimator (Transmission & Distribution)

Employment Type : Contract with option for full-time direct hire post-contract

Location : Headquarters in New Hampshire, with travel along the East Coast

Hourly Rate : $40 - $50 per hour, based on experience

Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Estimator to join our team on a contract basis, with the potential for full-time direct hire. This role is crucial in supporting the estimation and bidding process for high-voltage transmission and distribution (T&D) projects. The position will require travel up and down the East Coast to support various project sites and client needs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop accurate cost estimates for high-voltage transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to prepare competitive bids.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to optimize cost and scheduling.
  • Source and evaluate material, labor, subcontractor, and equipment costs.
  • Perform risk assessments and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, material pricing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and provide technical expertise during pre-construction phases.
  • Travel to job sites as needed to assess scope and verify project conditions.

Qualifications :

  • 3 years of experience in estimating for high-voltage transmission & distribution projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Trimble, or similar).
  • Knowledge of industry standards, utility regulations, and construction methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently along the East Coast as project needs arise.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with major utility providers and EPC contractors.
  • Familiarity with NESC, NEC, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Salary : $40 - $50
