Project Manager/Estimator - Transmission & Distribution Construction

Location: Syracuse, NY

Salary: $90,000 - $125,000 USD (commensurate with experience)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Construction Project Manager/Estimator to join our team in Syracuse, NY. This role requires a dynamic professional who can manage complex projects in the utility construction sector while providing accurate cost estimates. You will play a key role in the planning, execution, and delivery of transmission and distribution projects while ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

• Lead and manage all aspects of T&D construction projects from inception to completion.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
• Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.

Estimation:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for T&D projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Conduct site visits to assess project scope and gather necessary data for accurate estimates.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and proposals to develop comprehensive estimates.
• Participate in bid processes, providing competitive and accurate pricing.

Team Collaboration:

• Supervise project teams, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
• Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials and negotiate contracts.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: 5 years of experience in T&D construction project management and estimating, preferably in the utility or energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of T&D systems, including overhead and underground utilities.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project) and estimating tools.
• Understanding of safety regulations, permitting processes, and industry standards.
