Job Description
Ingram Content Group (ICG) is hiring for a Non-Product Buyer to contribute to our Corporate Services team in LaVergne, TN just outside Nashville. The Non-Product Buyer oversees the purchasing process; acquisition, purchase, and negotiation for supplies and materials in a timely manner and at a competitive price for all ICG internal departments and Distribution Centers.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or directly related year for year experience
- 2 years Purchasing or Customer Service experience
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced with utilizing Microsoft Excel
- Experience with purchasing and/or working with a purchasing department
- Ability to be flexible/multi-task based on workflow demands
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs the processing and approval of purchase orders through the PeopleSoft purchasing system. Includes the approval of PO’s for other Ingram Buyers not in the Purchasing group, up to but not over $5,000.
- Negotiates and buys operating supplies for all departments and locations. Maintains and coordinates Ingram pricing for other purchasing groups within Ingram and LSI.
- Communicates and coordinates freight options with suppliers.
- Maintains and updates PeopleSoft purchasing system with product item number, product specifications, vendor and pricing as well as coordinating with AP on vendor tax status.
- Initiates RFQs, analyzes prices/quality expectations/delivery dates, negotiate prices and terms, and awards and communicate agreements to winning suppliers.
- Conducts onsite vendor interviews while sourcing supplies and/or services for all internal departments as well as Ingram’s Distribution Centers.
- Prepares and writes specifications for selected supply items in assigned categories and manages the complete Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
- Works with requestors to ensure proper items and delivery times are met.
- Develops cost savings reports for regular review with the VP, Corporate Operations.
- Resolves procurement related issues and discrepancies via collaborating between Accounts Payable, Operations, and the supplier to resolve billing issues.
