What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Account Representative position at Ingredion?
Ingredion is hiring a Technical Account Representative who is responsible for providing ongoing technical and sales support for existing customers as well as developing new accounts as opportunities arise. In this role, you will work cross functionally with our sales, business development, marketing and applications groups to address customer inquiries and build lasting relationships, primarily with emerging and small-to-medium sized companies within the food and beverage industry.
As a Technical Account Representative, your responsibilities will include:
- Field calls from the technical hotline, chat and website. Respond to all inquiries from customers. As needed, support outside sales, marketing and customer service teams in addressing requests.
- Manage assigned sales territory and develop new opportunities as they arise. Assist in qualifying new leads generated by the Marketing department.
- Collaborate with Technical Service and R&D team members to provide efficient solutions related to customer projects and inquiries.
- Work cross functionally within the larger Ingredion network to provide customers with current and relevant information pertaining to such topics as available services, supply, current prices and new materials.
- Maintain/update account information including but not limited to forecasts and opportunities in CRM software (SalesForce.com)
- Meet targeted team sales growth goals for assigned accounts and/or regions
- Stay abreast of current trends, market conditions, and technological advances through continued education; maintaining ongoing technical learning through R&D department.
- Visit customers with field sales and/or attending trade events as needed
Qualified candidates will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in a science-related field required, Food Science degree preferred.
- Prior sales experience and food industry experience helpful. Knowledge of features, benefits and use of products desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask effectively within a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), presentation, organizational and time management skills.
- Up to 20% travel required.
