What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cable Assembler I position at INIT Innovations in Transportation?
Total Quality Assembly (TQA) is seeking a Cable Assembler I.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Use of hand tools / cutters: Prepping cable ends.
- Use of hand tools / electric screwdriver: Assembling of cable components and electro-mechanical devices.
- Ability to work from detailed instructions / blueprints and conform to strict quality assurance guidelines.
- Ability to work on various machines like crimping and labeling equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum one-year related work experience in an industrial environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Capable of understanding assembly drawings/bill of materials, written work instructions and distinguishing different colors in multi-conductor cables.
- Must be able to function well in a team or group environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good attendance, attitude, work ethic and able to report on time.
- Crimping of cables a plus.
- Soldering of connectors a plus.
Physical Demand:
- Must be able to lift up to 40-50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
- Prolonged periods of performing the same work task.
Reports to:
- TQA Shop Supervisor
- TQA General Manager
Work Location: This position will be in-person at INIT headquarters building in Chesapeake, Virginia.
