What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Lab Technician position at Innophos?
Innophos is recruiting for a Quality Control Laboratory Technician at our Geismar, Louisiana chemical plant. The Lab Tech position is responsible for performing all raw material, in-process, and finished product testing for products produced at the Geismar plant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing daily calibration checks, running references, evaluating the validity of the data, entering data into log books and LIMS software programs, and preparing CoA’s for bulk shipments.

- Catch samples at various sites throughout the plant
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline preferred
- Prior QC experience beneficial
- Ability to comprehend and accurately perform analytical methods
- Possess a fundamental understanding of mathematics and understand the nature of analytical calculations
- Must be computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and LIMS software
- Safely handle corrosive and toxic chemicals
- Safely work alone when necessary
- Complete assignments in a timely fashion
- Maintain a clean work area
- Visually make color comparisons and identify the presence of foreign materials
- Interact professionally with supervisors/production employees in busy lab environment
- Use good documentation skills/organizational skills to record lab results
- Must have a good attendance record
- Must be able to work rotating shift schedule, weekends, holidays, and vacation relief
- Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices including the proper wearing of clean protective clothing, following personal hygiene standards, and adherence to food/drink/tobacco restrictions
- Beginning the first of the month following permanent hire benefits are available
- Annual incentive bonus (based on site and company performance). Bonus ranges from 0-5% of eligible annual earnings.
