Instructional Aide (With a Focus in Math)

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Aide with a strong emphasis in mathematics to support student learning in a collaborative classroom environment. The Instructional Aide will assist in the delivery of math instruction, provided targeted small group or one-on-one support, and help reinforce key mathematical concepts. This role plays a vital part in improving student achievement by offering additional academic assistance, monitoring progress, and fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in math, strong communication skills and a passion for helping students succeed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
• Support students with their individual learning needs, focusing on literacy and math skills.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Provide small group and one-on-one support to students.
• Help maintain a structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed.
• Engage in activities that promote social skills and emotional development among students.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and transitions between classes.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in a classroom.
• Strong proficiency in mathematics and basic math instructional strategies.
• Prior experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Ability to support differentiated instruction and accommodate diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, reliability, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed in math.
