BRANCH MANAGER

The Branch Manager assists the Credit Union in achieving our mission to provide service that exceeds our members' expectations by earning members' trust through cooperative relationships. This is achieved by providing outstanding service to members. A vital component of this service is identifying members' financial needs and offering a Credit Union solution to improve their financial lives. In addition, the Branch Manager will meet with members to understand their needs, assist in opening accounts and determining loan eligibility, and ensure that members get the attention they need. To direct the operations of a medium-sized, remote Credit Union facility, ensuring the branch meets organizational financial, operational, service, and growth plans.

Essential Job Functions:

• Proactively promote a cross-sales culture within the branch by example and training employees to identify opportunities. Ensures branch annual product sales goals are achieved. Ensures branch participation in lending and operations promotions (20%)
• Underwrites consumer loans up to the amount assigned per credit union policy; reviews and approves underwriting decisions of subordinate personnel. Ensures branch annual loan growth goals are achieved (20%)
• Manages, directs, develops, motivates, hires, and disciplines branch personnel; administers performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel actions (20%)
• Manages and monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and ensures appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions. Ensures member service standards, as defined in the Team Member Manual, are achieved (10%)
• Coaches team members monthly. (10%)
• Maintains communications with the main office; prepares and submits standard reports; attends scheduled management meetings (5%)
• Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups (5%)
• Manages and monitors all branch activities to ensure they are following established credit union policies and procedures (5%)
• Performs other related duties as assigned (5%)

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the industry's principles, procedures, and best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

• Five years of similar or related experience
• A two-year college degree, or;
• Completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or;
• Completion of technical training courses conducted by vendors, or;
• Job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times

Work Environment:

• This position is an on-site, in-person position - no remote working.
