Position Title: VR/Purchasing Specialist
Department: Vendor Relations
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
IEM Classification: Classified Work
Location: Placerville and may be eligible for Hybrid work schedule.
*This position is part-time, but candidates should be willing and available to work full-time hours when needed based on program or staffing needs.
POSITION SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, performs a wide variety of duties in support of the Vendor Relations department, including but not limited to: assisting with the vendor approval processes, Purchase Order Processing & Inquiries and related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Import vendor application data from Google to internal database;
- Review each vendor application for required elements, process a vendor agreement if accurate;
- Research vendor websites and coordinate with vendor points of contact if additional application information is needed;
- Participate in new vendor set-up meetings and training meetings;
- Respond to vendor and teacher emails and phone calls daily;
- Coordinate strategic planning with outside vendors to insure efficient delivery practices;
- Approves price increases on purchase order if necessary;
- Act as area back-up for PO processing during vacations and peak times;
- Interface with ESs and vendors on PO Inquiry issues;
- Proficient in Google suite/email and exceptional organizational skills/established team player.
- May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no personnel oversight/evaluation responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: At least three (3) years office/purchasing experience.

- Physical Demands: Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking and hearing in a standard office setting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read printed materials and a computer screen with ability to adjust focus, in addition to distance vision used for driving purposes. Frequently lifts up to 30 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 60 pounds . The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
