Lab Chemist II - Springville

The Chemist II position at Innovative Labs is vital to the success of the lab as well as the overall success of manufacturing quality products at Innovative Labs. The Chemist II is directly supervised by the Laboratory Manager. The Chemist II is to work under minimal supervision and function independently upon completion of training. The Chemist II will train and monitor new laboratory technicians and Chemists. The Chemist II will work closely with the laboratory supervisor and manager(s) to maintain and improve the laboratory quality system.

As a Lab Chemist II you will:

• Maintain records of all quality activities as documented in procedures and test methods
• Handle samples and perform analyses according to established procedures and test methods
• Write procedures and test methods
• Sign off on others work when trained to do so
• Maintain and calibrate assigned equipment
• Reports deficiencies or malfunctions to the supervisor
• Identify, record, and correct nonconformities
• Identify and record improvements
• Improves laboratory and/or quality activities on a continuous basis.
• Organization of samples for heavy metals testing
• Organization of samples for chemical analysis testing
• Preparation and analysis of samples for testing by HPLC, UPLC, GC, ICP-MS, and wet chemistry methods.
• Report and review results
• Maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness
• Perform internal audits when assigned.
  
• Other duties as assigned.

• Understand and apply information set forth in SOP’s
• Handle confidential information
  

Experience and Education

• Bachelor of Chemistry
• 2 years lab experience (HPLC or UPLC experience preferred)

Physical Demands

Work Environment

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
