User Experience (UX) Designer

What you will be doing:

As a UX Designer, you will be involved in all phases of our product design process - from initial research to high-fidelity prototypes for existing product redesigns and new product offerings. In other words, you are someone who is innately curious about how things work.  You become awestruck when you encounter something that works so intuitively, it’s as though the design was made for you. As a UX Designer at Innovative, you will:

• Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys.
• Translate concepts into wireframes, prototypes & other deliverables that lead to intuitive user experiences.
• Serve as a user advocate; someone who is able to see the product from the experience of the user and then alter their designs accordingly.
• Facilitate client’s product visions by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping, and testing user experiences for digital products.
• Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
• Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to both existing and new features.
• Rapidly test and iterate on designs with both existing and potential users.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders all over the globe.
• Take smart risks and champion new ideas.
• Promote a user-centered culture throughout Innovative and help to create ways to put the users of our products first.

Qualifications you must have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HCI, Information Systems, Computer Science, Communication Design, or related STEM or Design fields with a fundamental understanding of user-centered design processes.
• Be well-versed in user research methods and technologies.
• Portfolio of work that demonstrates use of the complete design process.
• Proven ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that balances user needs with business goals.
• A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns.
• Ability to iterate on designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
• An effective communicator that is outgoing, personable, and able to speak effectively with users and stakeholders alike.
• Ability to clearly and successfully communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
• Experience effectively working independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Have an openness and desire to receive and give constructive feedback.
• Be passionate about creating elegant, user-centered solutions.
• Ability and willingness to travel 10-15% of the time to client sites throughout the United States, and other locations. (Note – travel is dependent upon COVID-19 status and determination of prerequisite safety and precautions)

It’s a plus if you have:

• Expertise in software such as Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience with front-end development technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks such as JQuery, Angular, and React.
• Familiarity with .NET framework.
• Experience designing for both desktop and mobile-based platforms.
