White Rock is loving the veterinary care we’re providing! Because of this, we’re growing and looking for friendly, pet-loving humans to join our vet tech team. You’ll be responsible for concierge-style customer service and impeccable patient care. You’ll work in tandem with our technicians and veterinarians to provide our clients and patients with excellent veterinary experiences in a loving and welcoming environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Providing excellent customer service for our clients and their pets.
- Making sure the pets basic needs are met
- Patient handling and restraint
- General housekeeping duties
- Peri-operative care
- Assisting in Tech appointments: Vaccines, nail trims, AGE, ear cleaning, suture removal, etc…
- Tackling projects as assigned (with a smile, as always!)
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must have at least 1 year of small animal tech experience (current coursework may replace)
- Must have a working knowledge of veterinary terminology, supplies, and procedures
- Confidence in your skillset and readiness to learn what you don’t already know
- Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians and other hospital staff. (It’s okay if you talk to animals, too!)
- Must have a pleasant presence on the phone and great phone etiquette
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time (hour-long breaks!)
- Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
- Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
Ideally, you also have:
- Pets of your own (empathy vs. sympathy)
- Desire to learn and grow as a tech
- Desire to take advantage of advancement opportunities
