Registered Nurse (RN) Women's Medicine Unit

We are seeking an energetic, patient-centered Registered Nurse for our Women’s Medicine Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus!

Schedule: full-time, day shift with 3 x 12 hour shifts per week from 7:00am to 7:00pm

Sign-On/Relocation Bonus Information: This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.

Our 30-bed unit is located in the Inova Women’s Hospital, the only dedicated women’s hospital in Northern Virginia. On this unit, you will see a variety of women’s general medicine patients. The Women’s Medicine Unit is a sister unit to our nationally recognized Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit. Our usual nurse to patient ratio is four or five patients to one RN.

Patients on this unit include:

• General medicine
• Sickle Cell patients
• End of life
• Telemetry and continuous Pulse Oximetry monitoring
• Laparoscopic surgery
• Surgical overflow from the Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit

Required Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.

• Proficient computer skills required

Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Master of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN); OR Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• If Associates Degree RN, the following requirements will apply:
  • Enroll in an accredited BSN program within 6 months of start date
  • Complete BSN within 24 months of start date

Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement:

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
