Job DescriptionInova Ashburn Healthplex is seeking a Full-time (40hours)Medical Laboratory Scientist 2 to join the team. This position is working Night Shift Monday to Friday every other weekend as needed by the department. Work / Life Balance : offering paid time off, paid parental leaveMedical Laboratory Scientist 2 Job Responsibilities : The Medical Laboratory Scientist 2 ensures quality specimens for Laboratory testing by recognizing pre-analytical factors that adversely affect patient results. Operates systems / methodologies in order to produce timely and accurate data for patients, quality control and proficiency testing. Participates in departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory standards. Communicates effectively and working cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships. Participates in professional growth opportunities to enhance personal, team and departmental development. May perform additional duties as assigned.Medical Laboratory Scientist 2 Requirements : Work Schedule : Full-time Night Shift Monday to Friday every other weekend Education : Bachelor's degree in science from a college / university recognized by regional or national accreditation agency. Other acceptable forms of education will follow the guidelines of American Society for Clinical Pathology / American Medical Technologists Board certification Experience : Successful completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science accredited Medical Lab Scientist program or Accredited Bureau of Health Education Schools accredited Medical Lab Technician program, within the last 5 years can be used in lieu of 1-year full time acceptable clinical experience. Certifications : AMT or ASCP Board certification consistent with scope of responsibility to include : MT, MLS, MLT, BB, SBB, C, H, M, SH, SCT, MB, SMB, SM, SC, and HEW.About UsWe are Inova, Northern Virginia's leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
