What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant 2 - Remote position at Insitu?
Insitu has a need immediate need for an Accountant 2. This role will be supporting the accounting team and is 100% remote. The responsibilities will include:
- Performs a wide range of general and international accounting functions.
- Prepares and validates balance sheet, profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements and other accounting schedules and financial reports.
- Recommend concepts for accounting systems improvements.
- Identifies accounting records for retention.
- Monitors cost classification system and validate and corrects inputs.
- Participate in internal audits and support external audit requirements.
- Participate in actuals to forecast analysis for profit and loss and balance sheet elements.
- Researches and responds to routine accounting related inquiries and resolves issues and discrepancies.
Education & Experience:
- 3-5 years related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 1-3 years related experience with a Master’s degree; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of how to implement/maintain/document effective internal controls and processes to ensure system integrity and compliance with accounting system requirements and company internal control guidelines and requirements.
- Knowledge of accounting theory, concepts, and principles (e.g., Financial Accounting Standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
