Our client seeks an IT Helpdesk Engineer to become an integral part of their team! In this role, you must demonstrate an understanding of networking concepts, including knowledge regarding troubleshooting applications and network devices (hardware/software) and other services (Messaging, WiFi, Video, Collaboration, Web Apps, etc.).
In this role, you will be exposed to a wide variety of challenging learning environments and contribute to the company's success while gaining valuable experience. Our client is a small company, which allows for a great deal of flexibility in the opportunities available to our employees.
To thrive, you should have:
- 2 years of prior experience in IT support
- Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Computer science, engineering, or a related discipline preferred
- MCSA, MCP, or RHCSA certification - preferred
- A certification - preferred
- Experience with Microsoft networking and applications (e.g., Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, Terminal Services)
- Experience configuring and working with Firewalls, VPNs, and TCP/IP networking
- Enterprise Linux support (RHEL, etc.) with exposure to shell scripting (bash, Perl) is a plus
- Experience with ConnectWise is a plus
- A reliable, insured vehicle and a valid Driver's License are required for this position
- Excellent Communication skills
- Outstanding English language written and verbal communication skills and comprehension
- Ability to communicate technical issues in non-technical terms
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Proven ability to meet critical deadlines
- Able to support shift schedules/rotation as required to meet business needs
Your responsibilities as the IT Helpdesk Engineer will include:
- Assist callers with requests for information technology services, repair, or support requests
- Support issues related to software, hardware, email, network access, etc.
- Remote support of customers using excellent communication and customer service skills
- Onsite support at customer location (reliable automobile, insurance, and valid driver's license required - Driving Record will be checked)
- Ability to use methodical troubleshooting skills
- Clearly and thoroughly document user calls, issue resolution, and related processes and procedures
- Assist in the build and design of Microsoft-based server systems and networks
- Support the implementation of server-desktop environments using Active Directory
- Configuration and setup of desktops and network devices
- Perform routine network maintenance
- Collaborate with team members on projects and issues
- Assist in deploying Linux-based VoIP telephony systems, Cisco and Polycom IP phones
- Ability to adapt and apply industry best practices to all projects
- Assist in maintaining required technical documentation
