What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Records Processing- HIM, Full-Time, Woodbury position at Inspira Health Network?
MAJOR FUNCNTION:
The HIM Coordinator assists the manager and supervisor in the daily operations that pertain to record management, including but not limited to: Record retrieval and destruction; prepping, scanning, and indexing records for the HIM department; and onboarding and training of new employees. The HIM Coordinator generates system reports that aid in HIM department operations. The HIM Coordinator performs coordinator duties at every HIM department across Inspira Health as scheduled.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred.
- Minimum three years of acute care and/or ambulatory setting experience.
- Previous experience with record management, electronic MPI, HIE, patient registration and billing, and clinical system processes preferred.
- Experience in Cerner Power Chart and/or Cerner Kofax preferred.
- Experience in Soarian Financials preferred.
- Experience with desktop document scanner preferred.

Position Responsibilities
Organizes daily activities of the HIM Documentation Specialists staff:
- Assigns duties and adjusts workloads based on staffing resources and needs.
Responds to questions from staff and others regarding any issues or workflow problems and reassigns tasks as necessary to complete daily processes.
Assists in scheduling of staff under the direction of the supervisor or manager and maintains adequate coverage.
Conducts new employee and on-the-job training for HIM documentation specialists:
- Educates staff on correct procedure guidelines.
Generates system reports that aid in HIM department operations:
- Maintains statistics and productivity measures and standards and provides this information to the management team.
Validates and performs quality review of scanned records as well as monitors and maintains the integrity of the legal medical record and facilitates resolution of any discrepancies:
- Conducts monthly medical record integrity/quality assurance review as per department protocol.
