Additionally, you'll provide crucial remote administrative support to our office in Phoenix, Arizona.
As our state office Paralegal, you'll provide litigation and administrative support in IJ cases and assist with state office operations to ensure the seamless functioning of both our Austin and Phoenix offices. As our state office Paralegal, you'll provide litigation and administrative support in IJ cases and assist with state office operations to ensure the seamless functioning of both our Austin and Phoenix offices. From providing invaluable support in litigation to managing day-to-day administrative tasks , your role will be diverse and rewarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct basic legal research
- Proofread and cite-check legal documents
- Prepare tables of contents and authorities for legal briefs
- Prepare affidavits for clients and expert witnesses
- Maintain paper and electronic case files
- File documents in court electronically and by mail
- Draft correspondence to court and other attorneys
- Calculate, calendar, and track due dates for hearings and briefs
- Read and interpret court rules to determine compliance for filings
- Manage pretrial preparation and assist during trials
- Communicate and work on cases with attorneys and peers in other offices
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to both the Austin and Phoenix offices
- Extend a warm welcome to visitors and manage office communications
- Coordinate meetings and handle incoming calls and mail
- Craft polished office correspondence and manage initial case inquiries
- Assist with event logistics
- Passion for IJ's mission and dedication to defending liberty
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-3 years of experience in office administration or management
- Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive mindset
- Exceptional writing and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
