Duties Description
Working with the Director of Administration, Assistant Directors of Administration and Chief Diversity Officer, this position will be responsible for the strategic development, coordination, and execution of policies/procedures/agency activities surrounding the recruitment, acquisition, and retention of agency human capital talent, including from non-traditional and diverse sources, such as minority communities and mid-careerists.

- Functioning as the agency’s lead talent recruiter by participating in all recruiting/talent acquisition activities (including job fairs, college visits and social media marketing) and developing an external network of diversity and recruitment contacts and vendors.
- Developing internal communication plans and marketing material with program managers, and external outreach efforts to build awareness and understanding of the agency’s talent acquisition and diversity efforts.
- Researching and developing opportunities to recruit, retain, and promote a diverse cross agency workforce, including the use of social media presence and web-based recruitment tools.
- Advertising and promoting employment opportunities to non-traditional and diverse target communities in collaboration with program managers and the Chief Diversity Officer, and in-line with the agency’s workforce planning and succession management strategies.
- Analyzing data and producing reports related to agency diversity and inclusion, and equal opportunity programs to create mechanisms to grow and develop the agency’s internal workforce.
- Developing materials and training agency employees on equal opportunity issues related to employment, and involvement with the agency’s Five (5) Year Diversity and Inclusion Plan.
- Partaking in candidate selections and interviews to ensure that equal opportunity and diversity is considered in the agency selection process.
- Developing relevant programming to enhance employees’ cultural awareness and well roundness regarding talent management.
- Integrating diversity and inclusion, and equal opportunity activities into core agency talent acquisition processes, evaluating the effectiveness of such processes, and developing and instituting corrective actions.
- Building mechanisms to influence broader diversity sourcing efforts and pipelines across the sourcing team(s), leveraging non-conventional (out of the box thinking).
- Assisting in the development of networks both internally and externally in the agency to identify key talent and build ongoing pipelines for a diverse workforce.
- Liaising and consulting with other state agencies and non-state entities to ensure the best recruitment and retention practices/benchmarks are part of the agency’s operational matrix.
- Performing all other associated and occupationally related duties as assigned, including special projects.
- If required, perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities.
