What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specimen Processor position at Integrated Dx?
This is a position on our Specimen Processing team. The job will entail handling clinical specimens, data entry, providing great customer service, standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects (up to 35lbs.) on a regular basis.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Great attention to detail required
- Good data entry skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA and the ability to strictly adhere to
- Knowledge of good laboratory practices (GLP) and other regulatory agency standards within area of responsibility
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
Minimum Education/Experience: Must meet or exceed minimum education/experience requirements below:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- No experience required
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
- Accurately identify and label specimens
- Prepare laboratory specimens for testing
- Meet department activity and production goals
- Data entry of tests ordered. Performs all paperwork, technical, and nontechnical procedures required to process and submit specimens.
- Resolve and document any problem specimens
- Provide great customer service
- Accurately follow written directions
- Keeping inventory of all supplies
- Packing and preparing supply shipments
- Maintain a clean working environment
