What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education 1:1 Paraprofessional position at Integrated Preschool?
$27.82 per hour; 7 hours paid per day; 192 paid days (182 work days 10 paid holidays)
Provide continuous supervision and direct support to the assigned student throughout the school day
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, which may include feeding, toileting, diapering, lifting, mobility assistance, and hygiene tasks.
Implement and monitor medical protocols as directed by the school nurse or healthcare team (e.g., seizure monitoring, use of medical equipment such as G-tubes etc.)
Support student participation in classroom activities, play-based learning, and social interaction, promoting engagement and inclusion.
Use developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed strategies to support the student’s communication, behavior, and self-regulation.
Supports teacher in updating communication notebooks and assisting with parent outreach to promote home-school connection.
Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy protocols related to student medical and educational information.
Track and report health incidents and significant behavioral or developmental observations.
Monitor for signs of distress or medical need and respond according to emergency protocols and individualized health care plans (IHCPs).
Assist in maintaining a safe and hygienic learning environment.
