Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part-Time Authorization Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage all authorization-related tasks for both Speech and ABA therapies. You will be responsible for obtaining authorizations through various insurance provider portals, following up on authorizations, overseeing our document management system, managing all incoming and outgoing faxes, and ensuring accurate management of client insurance coverage. *While this position is primarily remote, applicants must reside in commuting distance to our clinic in Plainfield, Indiana for in-person training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain authorizations for Speech and ABA therapies through various insurance provider portals.
- Manage authorization follow-up, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation are completed promptly.
- Oversee the document management system, ensuring accurate and organized records.
- Manage all incoming and outgoing faxes related to authorizations and insurance coverage.
- Obtain and verify insurance coverage for new and existing clients.
- Collaborate with clinicians to develop and deliver training on submitting proper documentation for authorizations, appeals, and denials.
- Ensure that necessary authorizations for therapy services are obtained efficiently and client insurance coverage is accurately managed.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in medical billing, insurance authorizations, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with billing/authorization software is a plus.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to adapt to remote work with some in-person training required initially.
